Following the success of his inaugural mix for Ultra, Awake, George Acosta returned a year later in early 2001 with not one but two mix albums: Release: AM Edition and PM Edition. Both of the similar mixes find the Miami trance DJ throwing down the sort of intense Euro-trance that was beginning to peak in popularity among stateside clubgoers during this time. The Release: AM Edition mix features several of Acosta's own productions: the two-minute 'Dark Intro,' a brief snippet of his 'In My Eyes Edit' of Talla 2XLC's 'World in My Eyes,' and also his remixes of Oval Sun's 'Shadow Warriors' and the Grim Reaper's 'Taken Over Space.'

This mix and its companion helped crown Acosta the king of Florida trance in the early 2000s and set the stage for the DJ's continued commercial success.

Miami-based DJ/producer George Acosta began spinning records while in his teens, emerging as a staple of the underground rave circuit thanks to his appearances at clubs including the Omen, Le Boom, Mach 1, XS Frankfurt, the Shadow Lounge, and the Love Parade. The founder of his own Waxhead Records label, Acosta remixed everyone from the B-52's to Ultra Nate in addition to issuing his own records, which include 1997's Miami Beach Bash, Vol. 2 and 2000's Awake. The double series Release: AM Edition and Release: PM Edition followed in early 2001.

He and trance guru ATB collaborated on Trance Nation America, Vol. 2 later that summer. Acosta continued to release yearly albums, from 2003's Miami to All Rights Reserved 1 and 2 in 2006 and 2008, respectively.

A sequel to Lost World arrived in 2013 and a greatest-hits compilation followed the next year. In 2017 Acosta issued All of Me, featuring Ben Hague, Rob Noble, Shakeh, Danielle Simeone, and more. Jason Ankeny.
