I just bought a good Sears Kenmore Progressive 300 upright vacuum (11) today at a garage sale for five bucks. I left my relic Electrolux with the new owners of my former home during a recent relocation. In the interim I bought a Bissel 3750H which I do not care for, and borrowed a Eureka 7685 AU which performs somewhat better. I cleaned up the Kenmore, and though it seems to run well, noticed the drive belt is showing signs of degeneration. I would like to replace it, but was unable t. Now that I just fixed my Lux Legacy canister vacuum, I need help on my other Electrolux Regency Series upright! The vacuum works fine but the rotating brush does not work and the brush motor does not turn on.
Tried cleaning the brush and hitting hte reset button to no avail. This upright has a triple setting switch and I checked the each of the wires seem to be attached. It appears that the on-off switch itself is broken as the switch does not 'hold' when the toggle is activated. It seems to return to it's 'off' setting as soon as the toggle is released. Put the belt on the pump and turned on the machine.Nothing at all coming out of the pump. Where can I get a new pump?
