There has been so much controversy surrounding the private life of the image the public has set up as one of the greatest conglomerates in the world. I am sure that even this story will add to the scrutiny that is already vibrating in his life, but I have always believed in truth, and at times truth sets you free. My actions and words concerning Michael have been misunderstood and misconstrued. Not only from my own peers, but from his associates as well.

I have been told in so many words that that my presence in his life is not welcomed. I was even pulled aside on my former job because of an untruth that I was following Mr.

Jordan around as he worked out in a gym in Washington DC. I was threatened by the gym's management and human resource staff that if I didn't stay away from him that I would be fired on the spot. I had to literally sign a paper stating that I would remain aloof from Mr. Jordan while he was present in the gym. I questioned an associate of his about the matter, and in turn was told that he nor Mr.

Jordan had anything to do with it. I was very offended when he told me that Mr. Jordan didn't even know my last name, and that I was insignificant to him. That was very disconcerting to say the least, when in all my interactions with Michael I have always been respectful and courteous. I am bringing this forth, not because of any vendetta or to receive an apology, but hopefully this will open the heart of Michael Jordan, the man I met and spoke with in 1998.

The man that humbled himself in the presence of the Lord, and acknowledged His Word to him that day. I was told by Mr. Jordan that he respected and trusted me, and in no uncertain terms would he ever do anything to hurt me intentionally. I cannot honestly say that this has been the case.

I do not expect him to answer to my every whim, but I do expect him to be a man of honor, of integrity. A man is only as good as his word, and Mr. Jordan has shown that his word means nothing. I know the power of God, and I have witnessed in my ministering the Word of God for 18 years the tremendous impact on people that the anointing has. I know He is able to change the heart of any man or woman, so I do not question the Word that was spoken to Michael in 1998, and since then.

The actions of a man or woman do not dictate to God what He will or will not do, can or cannot perform in one's life. I have debated in my heart many times about telling the whole story behind our meeting and interactions since then. Of course many will take my motive wrong for doing so, but I cannot please people when I am striving to please God. There is nothing negative that can be said from the subject at hand except for I trusted when I shouldn't have. As was said of Madame Guyon, a great woman of God of the 16th century, 'Her only crime was that of loving God.'

Now that we can turn the lights out for one hour a year, are we ready to skip eating meat for one day a week as well? It's not like we haven't been told that one non meat day a week can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. David Suzuki, in Australia to promote his new book said it a few days ago.

Last year Paul McCartney was encouraging the British to drop meat from the menu once a week for the planet's health, while the chair of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Dr Rajendra Pachauri, said one meat free day a week would help tackle climate change. As we all know by now, the UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation estimates that meat production accounts for nearly a fifth of global greenhouse gas emissions.

But while urgings to cut meat consumption for the planet's sake aren't new, perhaps what's missing is more practical guidance on how to do it. It's one thing to screw in an energy efficient light bulb now and again, but for some people creating a meal minus meat as it's centrepiece is a bigger step. It's partly about cooking skills, but not entirely. It's also about tweaking attitudes in a country where an image of a dinner plate dominated by meat or chicken is still the norm, and When I first began cooking non meat meals years ago it had nothing to do with the environment or ethics, but (another) financial crisis in a long running journalist's strike there was an urgent need to drastically trim the family budget.

It was then that I discovered what great dishes you could make from foods like split peas and white beans, or by combining grains with nuts. From that time on I never saw a meatless meal as going without just eating different food with its own appeal. A meat free meal doesn't mean being nutrient deprived. There's no rule that says you need meat every day the current Dietary Guidelines for Australian Adults recommend a small (teensy, in fact) 65g 100g of cooked meat three or four times a week.

If you can't imagine a meal without meat at least not yet try reducing the amount of meat you eat at each meal by adding extra veg. Or try replacing some of the meat with legumes like canned red kidney beans or black beans added to chili, or canned lentils added to a pasta sauce or casseroles (and think of the money you'll save). But the team of local, state and federal officials investigating the case against suspected mass killer James Holmes said evidence gathering and a determination into what motivated the killings of 12 theatergoers and the wounding of dozens more could take months. We believe we have eliminated the major threats there, but we still have some more work to do,' Oates said. There is no question the apartment was 'designed to kill whoever entered it,' and most likely that would have been a police officer, he said.'

Make no mistake about it if you think we are angry, we sure as hell are angry,' Oates said. 'There is no question about what the intent was of whoever designed that device behind that door.' The FBI's chief in Colorado, Special Agent Jim Yacone, added that the effort to neutralize the multiple potentially explosive devices inside the apartment 'went very, very well, but the threat has not been completely eliminated. It has been significantly reduced.' Latest on Colo. ShootingYacone described a careful effort by investigators, who inserted the robot into the heavily mined apartment, first to disarm a trip wire rigged to the front door. The robot then neutralized a potentially incendiary fuel supply before disrupting a triggering mechanism attached to an improvised explosive device. The bomb removal team included several local police and fire agencies, specialists from the bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and FBI agents with expertise in chemistry and explosives.

The devices found in Holmes' apartment were 'certainly sophisticated,' Yacone said. He declined to speculate on how information may have been obtained to manufacture the booby traps and bombs. Everything appeared normal, Oates said. The 24 year old suspect believed to have killed 12 and wounded 58 in a shooting rampage early Friday in a packed cineplex theater showing The Dark Knight Rises, had a 'high volume' of deliveries of materials at home and at work over the past four months, including thousands of rounds of ammunition and a 100 round capacity drum for an assault rifle believed used in the shootingVideo: Eyewitnesses recount shooting in Aurora, Colo., movie theater during showing of 'The Dark Knight Rises.' But if straight ticket voting is a footnote in the fight over voting rules in Wisconsin, it a pretty intriguing one. There the policy question of whether people should be discouraged from casting an easy party line vote or whether they should be afforded the convenience of doing so.

There the political question of whether the practice helps Democrats or Republicans. And there the broader question of what the trends in straight ticket voting say about our political culture. Even as more states have abolished it in recent years, huge numbers of people use the straight ticket option where it available, in keeping with the contemporary rise in partisan polarization and decline in ticket splitting.

I could only get 2008 data on straight ticket voting for 12 counties, but in all 12, straight ticket voting rose from 2008 to 2010. I could only get 2006 data for six counties, but in all six, straight ticket voting rose from 2006 to 2010, as shown in the chart below. (The numbers represent the share of all ballots cast that were straight ticket): Point number three is that even though the proposal to get rid of straight ticket voting comes from the GOP, there little evidence in Wisconsin that straight ticket voting is inherently helpful to Democrats or that getting rid of it would be inherently helpful to Republicans. The chart below shows what happened in 2010 in our sample of 22 counties.

The column on the left is the percentage of all voters who chose the straight ticket option. The next two columns show what percentage of straight ticket voters voted Republican and what percentage voted Democratic (the counties where most straight ticket ballots were Republican are colored red): It not surprising that in a huge Republican year, the majority of straight ticket voters were Republican. That was true in 19 of 22 counties.

What more, in 16 of those 22 counties, straight ticket voters were more Republican than the overall vote for governor in that county. In other words, even accounting for the GOP tilt in 2010, they were disproportionately Republican. What about the impact of straight ticket voting in 2008, a good Democratic year? My sample is a lot smaller and less conclusive, since it only includes 12 counties. But it doesn appear that straight ticket voting was as helpful to Democrats in 2008 as it was to Republicans in 2010. While straight ticket voters were clearly more Democratic in these counties than they were in 2010, they were less Democratic than the overall vote for president in most of them.
